Scooters come in many types. Do not be tempted to buy more than you need. Most people will be satisfied
with a scooter costing around £2000 or less.

Small -
The smallest and the least expensive are the three wheeled. They will pack into a car with comparative ease
and are lightweight but they will not climb kerbs, will have a smaller range and are not as stable as their larger
counterparts.
Prices from around £650

Medium -
Medium size machines have longer range and some kerb climbing ability. They also suit a larger person.
They can be fitted with a cabin for weather protection.

Large -
Larger scooters are often capable of faster speeds. At these faster speeds they legally have to be used on the road.
We do not encourage road use. This is nothing to do with the capability of the driver but more to do with other road users
who do not expect to see these types of machines on the road.
If you live in a rural area and using roads is a necessity, then these machines reduce the risk by reducing the time
spent on the road. These machines are well suited to the fitting of a cab.

Cabins
These are usual of a canvas material with see through plastic for windows. They can be very useful if you have breathing difficulties
or need to keep warm. The downside is that vision is reduced and the scooter seems more cumbersome. If a machine has to be stored
outside the extra protection can be very helpful.
